Jobimmersion in British Columbia!
The Jobimmersion team approaches teacher recruitment with creativity and boldness. Always looking for trends in job seeking, the team wants to go where the potential candidates are rather than asking them to come to them. This is exactly the type of approach that will be used during their next visit to Vancouver and Victoria!
Starting April 28th, the Jobimmersion team will be in British Columbia to meet with potential candidates and school boards. Several activities are planned during this original foray into Vancouver and Victoria.
First, the team will visit Make a Future, the British Columbia teacher recruitment platform, to explore the possibilities of collaboration between our two initiatives. Then, starting at 4:30 p.m. on April 28, a Job Dating event will take place at The Garden Strathcona café in Vancouver. For this occasion, students in French as a Second Language (FSL) teaching qualification programs and graduates in education are invited to come and meet with participating school boards. Students and graduates will have 10 minutes to introduce themselves, make a good impression and get to know the school boards that have positions to fill. A great challenge! If you are in the Greater Vancouver area and would like to join us, sign up!
Next, the Jobimmersion Squad will be promoting careers in French Immersion and FSL teaching at the local French for the Future Forum which will bring together over 1,000 high school students at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby on April 29. After a boat trip to Vancouver Island, it will be the turn of the local French for the Future Forum in Victoria to welcome our team on May 2nd.
Finally, a second episode of Job Dating will take place at the University of Victoria on May 2nd from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm when the students and graduates of the FSL Education program will also participate in this promising activity! Are you a Victoria education student? Register now!
Yes, the Jobimmersion team is where the candidates are! Will you be there too?
