Uptown, Chicago shooting today: Person shot to death in 900 block of West Eastwood Avenue, police department says

CHICAGO (WLS) — One person was shot and killed on Chicago’s North Side Tuesday night, police said.

Police said the shooting occurred in the 900 block of West Eastwood Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood shortly after 7:30 p.m.

A male victim, whose age was not immediately known, was shot in the leg by an unknown offender, police said.

Police said the victim was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody and Area Three detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide more information about the shooting.
