Coastal Showers and Breezy Weekend Ahead

Coastal Showers and Breezy Weekend Ahead

A developing low pressure system off the Southeast coast is set to bring a soggy and breezy stretch of weather to Eastern North Carolina through the weekend and into next week.

Coastal areas will see the most significant impacts, with scattered showers and gusty northeast winds, especially through Sunday. Expect winds to increase to 10-20 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph along the coast. Temperatures will stay on the cooler side, in the upper 70s to low 80s.

As the low-pressure system strengthens early next week, Monday and Tuesday could bring more widespread rain and potentially stronger winds.

Coastal flooding and hazardous marine conditions are also like uncertainty remains about the exact track and strength of the system, but be prepared for unsettled conditions through mid-week.
