68-year-old Colonie man arrested for soliciting a minor to perform a sexual act

New York State Police arrested Christopher Johnson, 68, of Colonie, on Wednesday for promoting a sexual performance by a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say that on September 3 at around 5:00 p.m., an officer received information that an adult male was having inappropriate communications with a child.

After investigation, it was discovered that Johnson allegedly solicited a minor known to him under the age of 17 to perform a sexual act on Sept. 2, police said.

State police arrested Johnson and processed him at the Brunswick State Police. He was arraigned in Brunswick Municipal Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash, $10,000 or $20,000 partially secured bail.
