MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said a man was arrested for trafficking cocaine and fentanyl after a crash in Middleborough on Aug. 8.

Djosue Dossantos, 25, of Boston, was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug law and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Troopers responded to reports of a rollover crash on southbound Route 495 where the driver may have been ejected.

After interviewing both occupants, they learned that neither was ejected or injured, but that both were inconsistent in their stories and that one allegedly ran into the woods.

During a search with a K-9 unit, a plastic bag containing small packages of a substance suspected to be fentanyl and crack cocaine was found near the woods, as well as bundles of cash in small amounts.

Dossantos was arrested and it was learned that his license had been revoked.

The 17-year-old passenger was released to the custody of his parents and will be arraigned in court to file criminal charges at a later date.
