Jeffris Family Foundation Awards Grant for Stinson Library Historic Structure Report

ANNA, Ill. (KFVS) – The Jeffris Family Foundation has awarded the Stinson Memorial Library in Anna, Illinois a grant from the Heartland Fund.

According to the Stinson Memorial Public Library District, the grant covers half the cost of a Historic Structure Report, a comprehensive study of the property, architectural value, building composition and design.

The Jeffris Family Foundation’s mission is to help preserve and restore Midwestern architecture and historic sites. The Stinson Library received the grant because of the significance of the building’s historical legacy.

The Stinson Library is located in Anna, Illinois, and was designed by Walter Burley Griffin with the assistance of his wife, Marion Mahony Griffin. The Stinson Library was one of the last buildings designed by Griffin in the United States.

With the help of the Jeffris Family Foundation, this will help direct the preservation of the historic building and help visitors learn about the building’s history.
