Butler County man goes missing after appearing to “miss” from his apartment complex

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – Police are running out of leads as they try to piece together what happened to a Liberty Township man who went missing.

Scott Schwarz was last seen leaving his apartment complex on Friday and has not been seen since.

The only lead police have is surveillance video showing Schwarz leaving his apartment in Liberty Township. He was then seen walking down the stairs and leaving his apartment complex at 8:13 p.m., wearing a gray CSI T-shirt and dark-colored jeans.

“There are cameras all over Liberty Center, where the apartment complex is located,” said Sgt. Ryan Hensley of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. “Of the cameras we’ve found, none of them have captured it.”

The sheriff’s office said it has no leads on Schwarz’s whereabouts and has alerted police departments as far north as Columbus in hopes that someone may have seen him. Deputies have reviewed his cellphone, computer and financial records but have gotten no answers. They also said there is no evidence of any crime at Schwarz’s apartment.

“We have nothing to indicate foul play was involved,” Hensley said. “All we have right now is that he left the building on Friday and no one has heard from him. There has been no communication.”

Schwarz’s family lives in Georgia. He splits his time between there and Ohio, but police do not believe he has returned to Georgia.

“Normally, we can find something. He left his car in the parking lot. We haven’t found where a credit card was used or where money was withdrawn,” said Sergeant Hensley.

It’s been a very difficult few days for the Schwarz family. Scott’s daughter Victoria said they are heartbroken and searching for answers as they pray for her father’s safe return.

“We hope that someone has seen him somewhere,” said Sgt Hensley. “And we hope that we can return him to his family.”
