Southern 7 to host diaper drives in September for Illinois families

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KFVS) – South 7 Health Department will be donating diapers to families in need this September.

According to a release from Southern 7, National Diaper Awareness Week will take place from September 23-29. To bring attention to this in the seven lower counties of Illinois, the Southern 7 Health Department will be holding several “Bundles of Joy” diaper drives throughout its service region this September.

Donations will go to support families served through the department’s Head Start and WIC programs. Dates, locations and times are as follows:

  • Dollar General Store, Karnak; September 3, 10 am to 2 pm and September 4, 2 to 6 pm
  • Dollar General Store, Cairo (Turner Lane); September 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and September 6, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Dollar General Store, Rosiclare; September 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Dollar General Store, Golconda; September 11, 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Dollar General Store, Cobden; Sept. 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sept. 13, 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Dollar General Store and Family Dollar, Vienna; Sept. 20, 2-6 p.m. and Sept. 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Big John Grocery, Metropolis; Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sept. 24, 2 to 6 p.m.
  • Edward Jones, Anna (1000 Leigh Ave); September 23, 11:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Kroger, Anna; September 27, 10am-2pm and September 28, 2-6pm

Diapers and money donated to purchase diapers will also be accepted at each Diaper Drive location. If you are unable to visit the Diaper Drive in your area, donations will also be accepted at Southern 7 Public Health clinics and Head Start centers in Alexander, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski and Union counties through the end of September.
