Ohio High School Football: Strasburg Tigers 2024 Preview

The start of the 2024 Ohio high school football season is just around the corner.

Most teams open Week 1 on Friday, August 23, and a select few will play their first game of the season on Thursday, August 22.

This week, we’ll be running our own kind of two-day series with previews of two teams each day. Below is one in a series of previews of local soccer teams:

Strasburg Tigers

The Tigers finished with a 3-7 record last season in Jimm Morris’ first season as Strasburg’s head coach. Morris also was the Tigers’ coach from 2008-12. The Tigers look for steady improvement after winning two of their final four games last season, including a 27-0 shutout of Tuscarawas Central Catholic in their final game of the season.

Strasburg has the experience from last season but is still a young and growing team that will look to take additional steps this fall. The Tigers have moved to a new Division VII region this season, moving from Region 27 to Region 25. Strasburg will play a new opponent in 2024, as it will travel to Ridgewood to face the Generals in an Inter Valley Conference divisional crossover game in Week 5. Ridgewood replaces Tusky Valley on the Tigers’ roster.

Strasburg will kick off the new season on Friday, August 23, hosting the Rittman Indians in an independent contest.
