Riot Fest 2024 announces last-minute return to Douglass Park

The post Riot Fest 2024 announces last-minute return to Douglass Park appeared first on Consequence.

Chicago’s Riot Fest is changing course and has decided to return to its longtime home at Douglass Park, just months after announcing plans to move to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, and just weeks before this year’s festivities kick off.

Riot Fest initially announced its move to Bridgeview after festival organizers were unable to come to an agreement with the Chicago Park District. However, the move to Bridgeview was met with mixed reactions from fans due to its distance from downtown Chicago and limited access to public transportation.

In explaining its decision to return to Douglass Park, Riot Fest cited “the overwhelming support” the festival had received from “the city of Chicago and our fans.”

In its own statement, the Chicago Park District said Riot Fest was returning “by community demand” after the two sides were able to “come together with a renewed commitment to collaboration and engagement.”

To coincide with the announcement of the venue change, Riot Fest is offering a 20% off ticket promotion for all those who refer a friend. Additionally, anyone who previously refunded a ticket following the news of Riot Fest’s move to Bridgeview will be able to purchase Riot Fest tickets at the advance sale price, and parking passes will be automatically refunded. More details can be found on the festival’s website.

Riot Fest is scheduled for September 20-22, with a lineup that includes Fall Out Boy, Slayer, Pavement, Beck, Rob Zombie, Sublime, Public Enemy, The Offspring (performing Smash), San Vicente and Bright Eyes top the list.
