Tempers flare as Cowboys defensive tackle pushes Rams equipment intern to ground during joint practice

The same Ashley Schaeffer-approved tension permeates every joint training camp practice, as a group of players who really want to hit someone resist the temptation to go too hard.

In the end, someone can no longer contain their controlled aggression and we get a viral clip of a brawl to satiate a football-hungry audience. Wednesday’s joint session between the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams followed this familiar script, albeit with a new twist on an old classic when Cowboys defensive tackle Albert Huggins gave a Rams passer a two-handed shove.

You can understand why Los Angeles wasn’t all that excited about the extracurricular contact. Kudos to the intern who bounced back immediately like Rudy and was ready for the next rep: He proved tougher and more resilient than a real NFL quarterback who takes advantage of the push to get a flag.

The Rams and Dallas met in the preseason on Sunday, with Los Angeles coming away with a 13-12 victory.
