Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was carted off Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury.

According to The Athletic’s Alec Lewis, Addison fell to the ground along the sideline after jumping to catch a contested ball. Trainers helped him off the field before he left on a cart.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the “initial belief” is that Addison’s injury “is not serious.”

Jordan Addison Update: Injured ankle, unlikely to practice tomorrow but KOC doesn’t think it’s serious

“I think it will be fine,” the KOC said after practice.

Addison is heading into his second season with the Vikings and is expected to be one of quarterback Sam Darnold’s top targets.

Last season, he totaled 70 receptions for 911 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, stepping up when All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson was injured.

Addison was arrested in California on July 12 and charged with driving under the influence three weeks later.

from ESPN Dan Graziano Graziano has reported that the Vikings “anticipate” Addison will be suspended by the NFL once those legal proceedings are over. But with Addison not set to enter a plea until Oct. 7, the Vikings hope to have him with the team for the start of the 2024 regular season, according to Graziano.

Darnold entered the offseason as a potential bridge quarterback for the franchise after spending the No. 10 pick on JJ McCarthy, but the Vikings announced early Wednesday that the rookie quarterback would miss his entire rookie season after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus.
