Former Sixer Patrick Beverley gives love to Joel Embiid for Olympic run

Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is coming off a run to the gold medal in the Paris Olympics, which should benefit him. The fact that Embiid was around some of the all-time greats such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant for about a month and learning from them should push him forward.

Embiid played a big role in a quarterfinal win over Brazil and was fantastic in the comeback win over Serbia in the semifinals. The big fella played excellent defense on Serbian star Nikola Jokic and he scored seven of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to help the Americans overcome a deficit as large as 17 to reach the gold medal game.

Embiid then played solid defense in the win over France to conclude his Olympic run.

Former Sixers guard Patrick Beverley then took to Twitter to tweet out a phrase very familiar to Philadelphia fans from his time in the City of Brotherly Love.

Beverley has always admired Embiid for his dominance and what he brings to the table on a nightly basis. The fact that the 2023 NBA MVP winner was able to have this experience and add a gold medal to his resume should allow him to continue to move forward as a player with the Sixers.
