A series of carjackings prompts a community meeting in WeHo

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A series of car break-ins prompted a community meeting in the Wedgewood-Houston area Tuesday night.

Metro Nashville Police officers attended the meeting and even gave a presentation on crime prevention and smart parking.

The series of carjackings occurred shortly after midnight Saturday in the WeHo area. The Wedgewood-Houston Social Neighborhood Association is asking people to be cautious and not confront the suspects because they may be armed.

“Please lock your vehicles, secure your valuables, and please take your keys with you. I know that we sometimes have a habit of stopping at the gas station for a short period of time to grab an item and then rushing back to our cars. Of course, that should not be done because people are watching and looking to steal your vehicles,” MNPD said at the meeting.

MNPD added that if you have video of someone breaking into your car, please report it so they can help find and arrest the suspect or suspects.
