Paul Finebaum predicts SEC team will win national championship

ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum predicts the Georgia Bulldogs will win the national championship. Finebaum believes Georgia will advance through the expanded College Football Playoff and win its third national title in four seasons.

“I like Georgia, I’m not as sold on Georgia as I was last year,” Finebaum said. “And the reason I’m a little wary is that Ohio State may have the best roster, as we keep saying, but Georgia is still the choice to win it all.”

Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia narrowly missed the 2023 playoffs after losing in a three-point game to Alabama in the 2023 SEC Championship Game.

ESPN’s Finebaum and Heather Dinich like the Bulldogs to win a national championship despite facing a tough schedule. Georgia’s tough 2024 schedule includes three challenging road games at Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas.

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg went in a different direction: He predicts Ohio State will win the national championship.

Georgia has very high expectations for 2024. The Dawgs are projected to win the SEC. Georgia is the preseason No. 1 seed in the U.S. LBM Coaches Poll and the AP Poll.
