The Steelers begin their preseason tonight against the Texans. Here are some things to keep in mind.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to kick off their preseason tonight when they host the Houston Texans at Acrisure Stadium.

After a Disappointing performance in the wild card round in Buffalo In January, the Steelers kicked off their 2024 campaign tonight after a series of moves this offseason.

A new Steelers roster for this season

The Steelers roster underwent an overhaul this offseason.

The team Signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, traded Kenny Pickett To the Eagles, acquired Justin Fields from Buffalo, and signed Veteran linebacker Patrick Queenamong other movements.

The Steelers used their first-round draft pick to help shore up the offensive line, selecting Troy Fautanu with the 20th overall pick from the University of Washington.

With their second-round pick, the team added another offensive lineman with WVU center Zach Frazier.

Are some players not going to play tonight?

Several key players, including Russell Wilson, will not be on the field tonight..

Minkah Fitzpatrick, TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, Alex Highsmith, Patrick Queen and Isaac Seumalo are all expected to sit out the game.

Justin Fields is expected to see the same action in the game.as he has been receiving reps with the first team while Wilson is recovering from a calf injury.

It could be a big night for Fields, as head coach Mike Tomlin has said the quarterback position is very open.

What you should know if you are going to the game

If you’re heading to Acrisure Stadium, the Steelers suggest you arrive two hours early.

Parking lots around the stadium open for reserved spots at 2:00 p.m. and all stadium access gates open at 5:00 p.m.

Please have your digital ticket ready to scan on your phone to avoid delays. And don’t forget that Acrisure Stadium is a cashless venue.
