Trey Lance’s training camp dart shows why the Cowboys have faith in him

Week three of training camp began Monday for the Dallas Cowboys and Bri Amaranthus is in Oxnard keeping a close eye on everything that’s happening with Team USA.

One clip he shared via social media was of Trey Lance, the backup quarterback who has gotten off to a slow start, throwing an absolute barb. Lance is trying to take the QB2 job away from Cooper Rush, but multiple interceptions had fans questioning what management saw in Lance.

With just one pass, the North Dakota State legend reminded everyone why they have faith in him.

Lance is a dual-threat quarterback who made the pass by sliding to his left and throwing over his body. It may not look like much at first, but this is a perfect throw from Lance and it’s not easy to make.

Of course, it’s still just a pass in practice. If the fourth-year quarterback is going to make the jump up the depth chart, he needs to prove he can do it in real action.

He’ll get his chance this Sunday when the Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams meet in the first preseason game. Head coach Mike McCarthy has said he wants to keep a close eye on the former Bison, who will be given every opportunity to prove he deserves to be on the team.
