Steady rainfall across the state helped maintain or improve recent crop development.

According to the latest USDA Crop and Conditions Report, corn is rated 70 percent good to excellent and 89 percent stigmatized. Soybeans are 86 percent in bloom and 68 percent good to excellent.

The second cutting of alfalfa is now 92 percent complete, and the second cutting of hay is 66 percent complete.

Topsoil moisture is 79 percent good to surplus and subsoil moisture is 73 percent good to surplus.
