Roadworks begin on important streets in Laredo, causing changes in traffic

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – The Texas Department of Transportation is warning drivers about construction work taking place on major roadways this month. Crews are laying down a new layer of pavement on the section from Cuatro Vientos Road to Mangana-Hein.

Currently, work has begun in the area near Clark Boulevard and Highway 359. Officials say this is a moving operation and are asking drivers to use caution.

Raul Leal of TxDOT said, “Everyone needs to slow down. I’m glad to see a lot of people slowing down on the Loop, but we need more people to slow down. Go 55 miles per hour, especially around the moving equipment that is doing this repaving work, and you will see them over the next month on Cuatro Vientos Road. Be careful.”

This project is part of a district-wide paving program by TxDOT that includes 12 locations throughout the area.
