Now that the City Council has approved the deal for the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium, the next step is deciding where they will play their home games in 2027 while the new structure is being built.

The Jaguars want fans to weigh in.

The team on Thursday sent a link to an online survey to season-ticket holders asking them to vote on Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville or the Citrus Bowl in Orlando as the home venue in three years.

The formstack.com survey asked fans how many games they would attend at either venue, what mode of transportation they would typically use to games at EverBank Stadium, and their top concerns about going to games at either venue, including cost, amenities, travel time, travel logistics, tailgating, and fan atmosphere.

What was the message the Jaguars gave to the fans?

Here is the cover letter for fans:

Excited for the Stadium of the Future in 2028?

“The Jacksonville Jaguars heard your words loud and clear during the 2023 town hall meetings: We will play just one season outside of Jacksonville while we renovate the new stadium. We will keep that promise for the 2027 season.

“The question remains… where should we play and will we see you there?

“We want to know what you Jaguars fans think! Gainesville or Orlando?

Who else has put in an appeal to host Jaguars games?

One site that has been mentioned but never made the cut is the University of North Florida’s Hodges Stadium. UNF took to social media to defend its stance with a photo of the stadium and a caption: “We have a place… Hodges Stadium.”

UNF Stadium’s main problem is its low capacity (less than 10,000) and one-lane streets once you enter the campus from Town Center Parkway or Kernan Boulevard.

The team had also considered building a soccer field inside Daytona International Speedway, but that idea has since been scrapped.
