NV5 Global advances with contract in California

NV5 Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVEE) saw its shares open higher on Monday. The Hollywood, Florida-based provider of technology, conformity assessment, and consulting solutions announced today that it has been awarded a $7 million, one-year contract to provide project monitoring, testing, and inspection during the construction of a new 230 kilovolt underground transmission line in Northern California.

“Electricity demand and pressure on the nation’s power grid infrastructure are increasing due to electrification initiatives and the expansion of energy-intensive facilities such as data centers,” said Dickerson Wright, PE, NV5’s Executive Chairman. “NV5’s industry-leading expertise in power grid reliability is in high demand and we are well positioned to drive accelerated organic growth in our utilities business.”

NV5 completed the underground design of the new transmission line earlier this year and is now providing construction oversight and support on behalf of the utility during the construction phase. NV5 will collaborate with cable manufacturers and electrical contractors throughout the installation and will handle cable testing and commissioning to ensure the new line is efficiently deployed to meet interconnection and capacity demands.

The company primarily focuses on six business verticals: utilities, infrastructure engineering, construction quality assurance, buildings and technology, environmental health sciences and geospatial services.

NVEE shares advanced $1.24, or 1.3%, to $98.17.
