Man kills woman, hospitalizes another in Southern California fight

One woman died and another was briefly hospitalized after a man attacked them in Quartz Hill Sunday night, authorities said.

The women were found unresponsive in the 42900 block of 59th Street shortly before 8:30 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.


They were taken to a local hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead. The other woman was treated and released.

Authorities have not publicly identified the victims or the suspect, but investigators believe they were involved in “a physical fight.”

The man was caught leaving the scene and authorities believe no other attackers were involved.
