Man arrested after stabbing young woman to death in Sydney

A man has been arrested after a young woman was allegedly stabbed to death in Sydney’s west.

The 21-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed twice in the chest at around 1:40 p.m. Monday at a home on Great Western Hwy in Kingswood.

Two other people who were present called triple 0.

Paramedics treated the woman but she died at the scene.

She has not yet been formally identified.

A man was seen running from the complex, Superintendent Trent King said.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old man on Derby Street, Penrith, at around 7.10pm.

He has been taken to Penrith Police Station and is cooperating with enquiries.
