2024 California Classic Schedule and Participants

As the NBA Summer League kicks off this weekend, the California Classic is the first of three major events where young prospects, especially rookies, look to showcase their skills ahead of the 2024-25 season.

This edition of the California Classic is the sixth to be held annually, as the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors have partnered to host a dual league in Sacramento and San Francisco. Therefore, there will be games at both the Golden 1 Center and the Chase Center.

This year’s event will be especially unique as the Chinese national team will be competing against NBA teams including the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets, in addition to the Warriors and Kings, of course. The Kings will have two different rosters competing in the event.

A total of 12 games will take place during this event, each of which is already scheduled on the California Classic schedule.

This will be our first look at several high-profile rookies with their new teams, including Stephan’s Castle (Spurs), James Tan (Lakers), Dalton Knecht (Lakers), Kel’el Ceramics (Heat), Tidjane Hall (Hornets) and Isaac Jones (Kings) among others.

From a rules and regulations standpoint, there will be modified playing rules at the California Classic, including 10-minute quarters, which is standard for a summer league environment.

The NBA’s biggest Summer League event will be held in Las Vegas, where all teams will be represented starting next week. Meanwhile, there will also be a summer league circuit in Salt Lake City that will begin on Monday along with the California Classic.
