The inmate who escaped from a Tennessee prison last month appeared before a judge on Friday.

Billy Reed Fletcher walked off a work party at the county jail on June 12.

Authorities received a tip and caught him Thursday night without incident in South Carolina.

On Friday, the judge denied bail for the 43-year-old man and handed him over to Tennessee authorities for extradition.

Authorities said Fletcher was serving time for attempted aggravated robbery when he escaped.
