Boy injured when tree falls on other children playing in driveway of Pennsylvania home – NBC10 Philadelphia

A toddler was hospitalized after a tree fell while a group of children were playing in the driveway of a residence Saturday night, according to the Cheltenham Township Police Department.

The police department, EMS and fire department were called to the 7900 block of Chandler Road in the Glenside section of Cheltenham Township shortly after 6 p.m. for reports that a tree had fallen on a child, police said.

The 2-year-old boy was found with injuries, including an arm severed by a large tree branch that fell about 50 feet, according to police.

The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia after being treated by first responders, authorities said.

Cheltenham Borough Police say it is believed to be an accident after an initial investigation, but the investigation is ongoing.
