Police say the deaths of a mother and her children in Ontario are the result of alleged domestic violence

Police say a mother and her two children were found dead in their home near Windsor, Ontario, last month, shot in what they describe as a case of intimate partner violence.

Ontario Provincial Police issued a statement Saturday announcing the results of autopsies on Carly Walsh, 41, and her two children, Madison, 13, and Hunter, 8.

Carly Walsh’s husband and the children’s father, Steven Walsh, 42, is said to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police said they went to a home in the southwestern Ontario community of Harrow on June 20 after receiving a request to check on the welfare of someone inside and found four people dead.

A funeral home said earlier this week that a service had been held for Carly Walsh, Madison and Hunter.

Sherry Bondy, mayor of the nearby town of Essex, said last month that the deaths were a shocking tragedy that had a “huge impact” on the community.
