It is illegal to take photos at this place in Illinois

Illinois residents are being warned not to take the perfect selfie at a specific location in Illinois. If they are caught, they could be fined.

Looking deeper into places where you can’t take photos and the perfect selfie, I found that around the world you can’t take photos inside Westminster Abbey to “retain the sacred and intimate atmosphere of the building,” The Almo is steeped in history but no photography of any kind is allowed inside; the Pentagon, where you can take photos outside the monument but you’re not allowed to take them inside, and many other places I found interesting. See the full list here.

  • The Van Gogh Museum
  • Taj Mahal
  • The Statute of David
  • Buckingham palace
  • Big cats in New York

There’s only one place you’ll get a ticket if you’re caught taking photos, and that’s on any railroad in Illinois. If you’re caught breaking railroad law, you could end up with a maximum fine of $500.

Generally, it is prohibited for any person to walk, drive, or travel along the public right-of-way or rail yard of any railroad.

There are many beautiful and perfect places to take a photo, and some photographers are extremely creative when it comes to coming up with ideas. If you’re planning a graduation photo on a train track or just a selfie in general, make sure you know the law so you don’t get fined a hefty amount. No photo is worth a fine or, worse, an accident.
