Passengers stuck on Centennial Wheel at Navy Pier

Some cyclists said they were stuck on the Centennial Wheel for nearly an hour on Saturday.

CHICAGO (WLS) — A frustrating night at Navy Pier on Saturday as several people were stranded on the Centennial Wheel.

Video obtained by ABC7 Chicago shows Chicago police and the Chicago Fire Department at the scene.

A relative of a passenger told ABC7 Chicago they were trapped for more than an hour.

Chicago police confirmed that all participants had left the ride. No other information was provided.

No injuries were reported, according to a Navy Pier spokesperson.

An “electrical component” failed, causing the ride to stop.

The component that failed was replaced and the wheel was working again on Sunday, according to the spokesperson.
