Environment Canada issues severe storm warning for Thompson-Okanagan – BC News

Storm warning issued

Environment Canada is warning residents in the Thompson-Okanagan region of potential severe thunderstorms, strong winds, hail and heavy rainfall.

The weather agency issued a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday morning for the South Thompson, Nicola, Boundary, North, South and Central Okanagan regions.

“Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong gusts of wind, large hail, and heavy rain,” the alert says.

Environment Canada is asking residents to take cover in case threatening weather approaches and warns that heavy downpours could cause flash flooding and leave standing water on roads.
