Severe thunderstorm warnings across Quebec

Severe thunderstorm warnings remain in effect for Sunday in Montreal and some surrounding areas and thunderstorm warnings remain in effect throughout Quebec.

A warning is a greater alert than a watch.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said that while the sun will shine in the morning, “conditions will be favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rainfall” in the afternoon.

Some of the areas in which surveillance is applied are the following:

  • Montreal-Laval Metro
  • Vaudreuil
  • Valleyfield – Beauharnois
  • Quebec City

Storm warnings are in effect for the following areas:

  • Coatico
  • Mascule
  • Mont-Orford-Lake Memphremagog
  • Rawdon Joliette
  • sherbrooke
  • Sorel Yamaska
  • Vercheres-Beloeil

For a complete list of areas covered by the storm watch, visit Environment Canada’s site.
